Divine Interruptions

We keep hearing the Lord say, "Prepare for divine interruptions" - interruptions in our personal lives - interruptions in our church services - in our meetings.

First of all, He is asking us to allow His Holy Spirit to interrupt those gatherings. Most of us tend to follow a pattern - a pattern of praise, worship, announcements, offerings, a sermon, and altar ministry. Of course this is all good, but God is letting us know in advance that we need to be prepared now to allow Holy Spirit to interrupt our "patterns" and do what He wants to do at any moment.

The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:19, "Do not quench the Spirit." In Acts 7:51, the martyr, Stephen, rebuked the Pharisees. He said, "You always resist the Holy Spirit".

Let's not be guilty of this today in our churches, our prayer meetings, our home groups, even our individual lives. Let's be prepared to allow Holy Spirit to completely take over and do something different - perhaps something that has never been seen before...
